Pakistan close to victory in Galle Test, rain halts play

 Pakistan need 11 more runs to win the first Test match against Sri Lanka with four wickets remaining. The game has been suspended due to rain.

Pakistan scored 86 runs and lost two wickets in the first session of play on the final day of the Galle Test on Wednesday.

After the lunch break, Pakistan's Hasan Ali also got out and returned to the pavilion.

Mohammad Rizwan after scoring 40 runs while Agha Salman who played his first match got out after scoring 12 runs.

Sri Lanka will now have to dismiss four Pakistan players to win the match.

Pakistan opener Abdullah Shafiq is not out with 154 runs while Mohammad Nawaz is at the crease with him.

The morale of the Sri Lankan bowlers looked high after the dismissal of captain Babar Azam on Tuesday. He returned to the pavilion off the ball of Jayasuriya after scoring 55 runs.

Pakistan has got a target of 344 runs to win the match.

Sri Lanka scored 222 runs in their first innings and 337 runs in the second innings. The Pakistan team was bowled out for 218 runs in the first innings.

Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam has scored the seventh century of his career in the first innings of the first test match against Sri Lanka in Galle.

Babar Azam scored 119 runs off 244 balls with the help of 11 fours and two sixes on the second day of the Test match.

With this, Babar Azam has become the fastest Asian batsman to score 10,000 runs in all forms of cricket.

Babar Azam has achieved this record in 228 innings.

Earlier this record in Asia was held by Indian batsman Virat Kohli who scored 10 thousand runs in 232 innings.

In Pakistan, this record was held by Javed Miandad, who scored 10,000 runs in 248 innings.

On the other hand, Babar Azam has equaled the record of Pakistan cricket team captain Anzam-ul-Haq, but Babar-e-Azam is far ahead of Anzam-ul-Haq in terms of innings.
